Riley + Haley at HoneyStone Hill.
HoneyStone Hill sits on open ground outside Lebanon, and the whole place is built around what is behind it. A white barn, a black board fence running the length of the field, and a long open-air pavilion with string lights where the ceremony happens with the pasture still showing through the back.
Haley got ready in the white room with her dog in her arms and her bridesmaids in matching pajamas on the couch behind her. Her dress and five powder blue bridesmaid dresses hung on the shiplap wall in a row. Down on a whiskey barrel out front, a sign pointed the way in.
They did a first look in front of the barn, and then they slipped off on their own to read private vows before anybody else heard a word of them. At the ceremony they stood in front of a wooden cross wrapped in white fabric with a spray of blue and white flowers at the top, and walked back up the aisle with both arms in the air.
We stole them again when the sun dropped and the tree line went gold. Her veil caught the wind out in the open field and we let it. Then they left the way they came, the two of them in his 4Runner.
